Kwame Nkrumah declares Ghana “free forever” on independence day March 6,1957 flanked by some fellow freedom fighters. |
A man once said people of valor
accept their color.
Shall the blood of our forebears be made vain, he continued.
Those whose blood paved the path and made less our pain?
Disregard if you may
And yet he takes pride in his color.
Why dare hold our freedom in chains, he continued.
Our toils and pains shall not be made vain.
Behold! A wave of light from persons with a desire for true equality,
who shall the wages for freedom settle,
Lest their liberties be robbed in the twinkle
And their toils be made vain,
by self acclaimed righteous persons with an illusion of supremacy
coupled with absolute morality.
Who have stationed standards below their sole yet fail to meet.
But dare to position themselves deities.
The so-called characters of absolute morality
with false piety.
At last the tide; a wave of pride from persons emboldened by their true color.
With a quest for true equality,
who shall settle the price for freedom.
Amidst sinister plots they shall take their chances.
Perhaps they be labelled characters of valor.
Their self worth and flag are never low.
And they wave their pride in colors as the rainbow
Not oblivious silence is grave than death,
Disregard if you may.
And yet people of valor accept their color.
