Samuel Amissah |
Born
in Cape Coast on October 26, 1988 - Samuel Amissah is a director of music, teacher,
songwriter/composer and performer. At age ten – he started learning to play the
trumpet at the first Cape Coast Company of the Boys Brigade, Ghana. And rose
through the ranks to become the Central Regional Band Instructor of the
Association of Methodist Brigades at twenty-two.
From
2003 – 2006, he studied Music, History, English Literature and Geography at
Mfantsipim School and won the Best Music Student Award in 2004. He was one of
the students that started the famous Mfantsipim School Regimental Band in 2003.
Currently
- Samuel holds a Master of Philosophy Degree in Music from the University of
Ghana, a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana and
a Diploma in Computer Studies from IBB Centre for Computer Studies in Cape
Coast, Ghana.
He
represented Ghana at the Global Musician’s Conference 2011 organised by GLOMAS
and GLOMUS, and the Music Composers’ Workshop 2014 in Ghana organised by the
Royal Hague Conservatory of Music, Holland.
Samuel
also holds professional certificates in songwriting, music production and music business foundation from Berklee College of Music, Boston.
Samuel’s
interest in music composition perked up when he took up the responsibility as
the principal organist of Oguaa Youth, Cape Coast in 2011.
