Poem - written on December 20, 2013, by Crabbe Nathaniel and first performed at the Tesano Baptist Church.
In tears I stand in laughter;
it is tears of joy to a bright future -
occasioned by news from men who are wiser.
The news of a birth of the Light
long foretold by men with insight
into the future - informed by angels
of a Man to save mere mortals.

Silence, be calm, it’s a Holy night.
But alas, Herod laughs with pretends:
his heart so bitter as sugar -
so dark it appears to darken the Star -
he's heart-hardened to kill the Light
with a fury-burdened-heart - so intense!
Then women crying, shouting, and wailing, it was no laughter;
the mass slaughtering of their babies
from zero to two with no exceptions -
but Jesus was no ordinary Baby
his birth and death would be no mere story:
matchless love with no conditions.
From the manger to the cross his later death would lead to zillions of victories.
Behold, calling, ringing, singing, are the bells and birds:
singing hope, the birth of a new dawn.
[In the voice of Ghana's Kwame Nkrumah when he declared the country free forever]
Oh, kill the silence, stop the killing, the wailing and make a joyful shout;
Christ is born - there he lies in the manger
and I have no scintilla of doubt
that born to the world is a birth of the Light.
Who is Christ our Lord and Savior!
